If your familiar with NFC smart phone technology than chances are you that you have read about how the possibility of not ever having to carry a wallet again is becoming very real with digital wallets. However, I believe that the technology could lead to many more changes in our society that fall outside of the benefits of purchasing goods with your phone.
I personally believe that the combination of near field technology and our favorite smart phones has the future potential to see NFC tags and devices to become a main stream part of the way we get through our day. I find it easy to entertain the thought that in a few years from now places like the cinema or public transport will have NFC chips in their seats to help remind us to place our phones on silent or keep us informed of updates or special offers and I’m even as daring to say that I can see our smart phones becoming our keys to our cars and even our homes. I realize that the ultimate success of NFC smart phones relies heavy on industry adoption and may very well be super seated by future technology.
